I got these for my 2 new greyhounds that have taken a liking to eating my kids plastic toys. Every other chew toy that they liked (edible ones) they would destroy/eat within minutes. Any of the completely non-edible ones (like Nylabones) they lost interest in pretty quickly. These are the perfect balance! Two WEEKS later and my dogs are still enjoying them, with around HALF of the edible part still intact. The non-edible part doesn't break off so no choking hazard. It does come off in itty bitty slivers that are easily eaten and passed by the dogs (hey, better than the toy soldiers that ate and passed!).

This would've gotten 5 stars except that an ingredient in the edible part is wheat gluten which can be problematic for allergy prone dogs.

My boyfriend and I have 2 big labs and as you know they love to chew/destroy their toys, and some other stuff too (LOL). Well, I bought these to try it because it's 4 for 3 promotions, and our dogs need something to get them busy, something for them to do with their time when I need to do things around the house. You buy 4, pay for 3, and get 1 free. You don't get specials like this at the pet stores. These things are AWESOME. They keep their attention for hours and a treat can last up to 3 days, depending on how fast your dog will chew it up. Anyway, our dogs fell in love with these chews plus it cleans their teeth. Now, I buy it every time I run out. I just hope Amazon will have more promotions like this more often for other chewing toys.

My dog loves chew toys but they often don't take him long, and once they are small enough to swallow he just eats them. This toy is long lasting and kept him interested for quite a while. He did chew the plastic as well and probably ate some of it but it didn't seem to effect him in any way, much like a nylabone. The filling is hard and difficult for the dog to get to because of the little plastic bumps in the middle. Eventually it appeared to lose flavor and he lost interest...but not for a couple of weeks. Now he plays with it as a toy rather than chews on it but he seems to enjoy it all the same.

Was happy that this was competitively priced and the toy arrived promptly from the vendor. Thank you! Like the box too - one side is black with large letters "Where's my plea?" (i.e., victimized dogs can't plea in court like the sadistic Vick could).

.....My dog is a people-kid-and-cat-loving rescued, scarred, and totally sweet pit bull terrier. (She's good with nice dogs too, but may react to aggressive/attacking dogs, though her first preference is to try to ignore them.) She immediately wanted and chewed this toy with great enjoyment. She used the head to grasp it in her paws and methodically chewed off first one foot, then the other, then one calf, then the other, then one thigh, then the other. Then she lost interest, apparently figuring that this sufficiently expressed her opinion of dog torturers like the one she'd suffered under.

....She was rescued by a cop from a drug dealer, because she was so sweet, and then temperament tested thoroughly before being put up for adoption. She arrived with fear of men with fists or anything stick-like (broom, flagpole, yardstick, whatever) but that is now gone; she loves greeting new people (men included) and has made friends everywhere, even dogs and people in the vet's office.

.....SO - it was emotionally satisfying for me, the new owner, to see my rescued, scarred doggy violate this Vick image. Haa! Take that, you nasty sadist sicko!

.....Note the toy is made of soft chew-toy like plastic, so if your dog tends to swallow little bits DO NOT GIVE IT to the dog. (My dog spits out bits she chews off, so I just collected them from her as she chewed away; otherwise I wouldn't have let her chew it). Regardless, this is NOT a toy to be given without your close supervision! Supervise closely and do not leave unattended where dog can reach it.

.....Given the above caveats, I recommend this for any dog owner who is disgusted that the legal system ignores that Michael Vick has a serious psychological problem - sadism - coupled with selfish greed. It was great he was made an example of as a legal case, with fines and jail time, but now the football business is using him again for their business profit, and the press has been fawning over the situation. This is because money is the bottom line - i.e., most fans don't boycott games wherein animal sadists are on the team. Too bad! So, watching our rescued doggies chew up this toy is the only satisfaction we and our doggies will get.

.....So please buy this toy! We're going to frame ours now that it's been personally "autographed" by a real pit bull. Read the facts online about this breed, not the stupid ignorant press and urban myths that perpetuate ignorance.

BEWARE! Dogs will destroy this toy in less than hour regardless of their size. This item breaks apart into small pieces that are easily swallowed by dogs. Collectors: this seller cannot be bothered to wrap the original box so shipping labels (To: and Return:) are applied directly on box ruining collectible value. Additionally, I ordered two of these items and only one arrived. Following Amazon's process, I attempted to contact seller who could not be bothered to respond. I was forced to use the Amazon A-Z Guarantee claim process (worked flawlessly) to get a partial refund. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS SELLER!

I have two goldens and several of these bones in the large size. One likes these "Y" shaped Nylabones and the other absolutely adores them. She typically carries around 2 or 3 at once. The nice thing is that they last a long time, unlike most other toys. I only wish they were brighter in color - they get lost in the yard, only to be discovered months later.

I won't say that the cap isn't difficult to get in and out, but don't let that deter you. Personally, I LIKE that it's so difficult to remove--who would want to risk their doggie swallowing it?

My pug is an avid and PICKY chewer. He does not like the hard/firm (that is, more durable) chews at all. And he goes through stuffed animals too quickly.

To date, this is the best toy I've found to keep his interest. It's soft enough that it "gives" when he chews it, but he is not capable of breaking off pieces. As such, it's the only toy he's allowed to have unsupervised.

I have used this several times and all it does is get water everywhere out those small holes on the sides. It does virtually nothing for the dogs a block of regualr ice can't and I'd rather not store it in my freezer either.

My Rottweiler-Beagle mix (I know, odd combo) literally destroys every ball that comes into our yard, as well as any chew toy I bring home to him. Even those labeled as indestructable are mincemeat when he gets a hold of them.

And then I happened upon the aqua bone. Labled as hard to destruct, I thought, yeah, right... well it is nearly a year later and the only signs of wear are some of the little nubs missing from the bone. It keeps him busy and most importantly, when he wants to play fetch, it's large enought that it doesn't get all slobbery. I have yet to try this with water - but it would surely be an outdoor toy in that case. One thing I have noticed is that Kirby seems to have less tartar and fresher breath which I attribute to this toy. Now if I could just get old pewy breathed Max to like chewing toys...

I cannot say enough about these bones - they are a life saver to anyone who has a busy body or chewer. But whoever measured this and came up with a length of nine inches must have been an insecure man; it's more like five.

I have a very heavy chewer and he will destroy most toys within 15 minutes. This one is still lasting and he chews it daily. Very good for a hearty chewer.

Reliably interesting toy that doesn't smell too bad. Absolutely no digestive effects that I can see, and it lasts much, much longer than an ear. It's a little more durable than a hoof and has the advantage of not smelling like old manure as the dog chews it, no doubt the reason my puppy is more enthusiastic about his revolting hooves.

The first was lasting well until the 13 year old lab mix, a.k.a. Jaws, got hold of it and consumed it apparently because she thought the puppy was enjoying it too much. The bonus was that it cleaned up her teeth a lot. In her youth, she could destroy anything and all her toys had names like Rugged, Indestructo, Mega-Tuff, etc., so I would still rate this as a fairly lasting chew toy. The second is three months old and while it's only a stub, it's still around and being chewed every day.

If your chewer has separation anxiety, go for cow ears, stuffed Kongs, or a bully stick. They'll last long enough for the dog to forget he was upset that you left, and they are more enticing than an antler, which is really for leaving around the house to chomp on when the urge strikes. Avoid hooves unless they're only for outdoors, and stay away from pig ears unless your dog has the stomach of a goat, because the grease will give most dogs the runs.

I have a Pit Bull and a 120 lb American Bulldog and have had a heck of a time finding anything that lasts more than 5 mins with these guys. I was told about antlers and thought I would give them a try.

I have two small elk antlers (about 3") that I bought about 5 mnths ago. Not only have my two not been able to break them, but they LOVE them! All I see for ware are some shallow grooves around the edges where the dogs have worn the antler down. I wish I would have found out about them years ago! They have not splintered even a tiny bit. These rock!

My 85lb German Sheppard loves this tire, It took her over a year to final rip a peice off. Where as other products we have bought she's punctured and destroyed with a few hours of having it. I definitly recommneded this toy to anyone who has a chewer in the house.
